Fashion For The Seoul
For a brand as iconic and integral to the world of fashion as Louis Vuitton is, we expect this prestige to be reflected in their flagship stores. And with the recent opening of their Maison Seoul store, the brand has definitely impressed.
Designed by architects Frank Gehry and Peter Marino, both the stores exterior and interior draws inspiration from Korean culture. The store front’s big, sweeping shapes are inspired by the 18th century Hwaseong Fortress and the swooping movements and costumes of the Dongnae Hakchum (Crane Dance).
The interior offers clients five floors of complete luxury, with each floor dedicated to a different universe of Louis Vuitton. A 12-metre high entrance hall leads into more intimate spaces within the store, with a floating staircase leading throughout the floors. Throughout the store, shoppers will find various objects d’art, imagined by some of the world’s most sought after designers, including suspended cocoons by the Campana Brothers hanging from above.
With vivid colours, striking art installations, as well as, of course, the beautiful creations of the house of Louis Vuitton, Seoul clientele will have an experience to remember during their next visit.
