Frankly Speaking
With the year coming to a close, soon the days will be turning tinseled and colourful with Christmas cheer. As you’d expect, Christmas wish-lists will be filled to the brim with roller skates, new socks and the latest iPhone’s or laptops for the beloved teenager in your life. There are, however, a few children in New Zealand, who just want an exercise book, or wall planner, or other essential tools for when they return to school.
Started in 2012, FRANK Stationery wanted to help those kids with their social enterprise. Owners Jason and Jess Holdaway began their home-grown company from the ground up.
They now produce and sell a wide range of beautifully-designed stationery pieces that have a real Kiwi feel to them.
From diaries to weekly planners, and to-do lists, FRANK products are affordable, high in quality, Instagrammable and fun to use. At the heart of the product are the Holdaway’s drive and passion to create stationery that means something and gives back.
After watching a documentary about poverty in New Zealand, Jason and Jess turned their desire to help those in need into a business model that deconstructs the idea of giving and receiving in a profit-based market.
When you buy a notebook from their range, FRANK donates an exercise book to a low decile school kid. With FRANK, the customer ‘gets’ as well as ‘gives’.
FRANK also offer the option to have their super styley notebooks customised for conferences or events, so not only do companies get their brand emblazoned on the handy notebooks, but it also means a lot of exercise books for a lot of kids in need.
Attendees of the recent M2woman Journey to Excellence event all received a customised FRANK notebook, with the notebooks sitting proudly on the tables.
You can buy from a huge range of notebooks and other products on their website at www.frankstationery.com
