Long Haul Just Got Longer

The Doha to Auckland flight by Qatar Airways is about to end its reign as the longest passenger service flight in the world as Singapore Airlines has recently announced that it will begin service for a non-stop flight from Singapore’s Changi Airport to New York’s Newark Liberty Airport. Launching in October of this year, the flight sets out to connect two North American and South Asian business hubs with the longest flight in the world, flying 15,329 kilometres over 18 hours and 45 minutes. The ultra-long-range, fuel-efficient Airbus A350-900 ULR will consist of 94 premium economy seats and 67 business class seats. Despite this change in rankings, Auckland will still be the take-off and landing location for two of the top five longest flights in the world.
