The Motorola Signature Is A Powerhouse

I recently got my hands on the new Motorola Signature and I have to say it’s a powerhouse and feels great to boot. If you wanted a no-expense-spared experience, then the Signature is the no-nonsense best option available, in either PANTONE Martini Olive (Gold) or Carbon (Dark Blue), and weighing a nice 186g.

I’ve become a full convert to wireless charging, and the Signature is more than happy to fast-charge via this method. If you don’t have a charging pad at your desk, I seriously recommend picking one up. The Signature can take up to 50 W of TurboPower wireless charging or 90 W wired via USB-C.

Packed in the box with the phone is a clear phone case to protect it from bumps and scratches. I wish the world was a softer place because this robs you of the back of the phone, which has been textured with a premium, luxury-feeling, linen-inspired finish. Most phones keep the aluminium wrapped the whole way around, so they always feel slick to the touch. In comparison, this warm, textured approach makes the phone feel like it was made for a human.

While we’re looking at the back of the phone, it has a main 50 MP Sony LYTIA 828 camera, as well as a 50 MP Ultrawide for 122-degree photography, and a 50 MP Periscope Telephoto with a 100x Super Zoom Pro for gorgeous macro photography. For video, you can capture up to 8K at 30 fps Dolby Vision or 4K at 120 fps slow motion.

The cameras on the back are quite bulky and stick out significantly. Placing the phone flat will always have it on a slope if you don’t put it face down, although this isn’t uncommon with phones these days. In several instances, I’d place my non-review phone on top of it, and five minutes later it would crash onto the floor as it slid gently off the Motorola Signature. It looked like the Signature was trying to murder my other phone. “There can be only one.”

Sound is delivered by the best-in-class Bose via Dual Speaker Audio and Dolby Atmos.

For the gaming stress test, I put all my phones through Genshin Impact. Keeping performance in the green to keep the phone unstressed and comfortable, I could set the render resolution to High, with all the other settings set to Medium, so I could get a comfortable 45 fps. Pushing the settings higher is possible, but things already look gorgeous on the Super HD 2780 x 1264 screen.
For more granular specs of what you’re working with, it has 256 GB of storage and runs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 with 12 GB of RAM.

The 5200 mAh battery seems to just go and go, with about 41 hours of battery life, or 28 if you’re doing continuous video playback. That’s a hospitalisation amount of TikTok.
Apart from the nitpick about the bulk of the cameras, the Signature is a beautiful device with nice textures and the grunt required to deal with pretty much anything you’re going to throw at it in 2026.
